Elaine Connolly leads on bathing and shellfish water quality issues for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and represents the UK at EU level on bathing water issues. She joined Defra in 2000 and has worked across a variety of areas including rural policy and international trade in animals and animal products. Elaine studied BSc(Hons) Environmental Science at University of Plymouth and an MA in Sustainable Environmental Management at Middlesex University.
