Mel was the NERC Knowledge Exchange facilitator for this project. She has a PhD in applied catchment management, specifically in dissolved organic carbon losses from a peatland on which a wind farm has been built. Mels applied catchment research is complemented with 8 years previous experience of working in environmental protection in Jersey. This included hands on experience of bathing water sampling, analysis, policy agendas and debates, public engagement and catchment-associated drivers of bathing water failures.
